Redwood City, CA – June 25, 2019 – American Camp Association is pleased to announce Deer Crossing High Sierra Summer Camp’s 2019 overnight summer camp. Deer Crossing Camp’s summer camp is open for youths ages 8-17, located in a wilderness location on Loon Lake in California near Lake Tahoe (as the crow flies). This summer camp offers once-in-a-lifetime outdoor adventure experiences for middle school, high school, and college-bound students.

Through the highest peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the thrilling serenity of the lakes, Deer Crossing High Sierra Summer Camp offers up close and personal engagement with some of the area’s most spectacular destinations. The camp is only accessible by boat such that everything that is needed for the camping- gear, food, supplies, etc. are delivered by boat. Participating in this camping adventure avails youths the opportunity to learn valuable wilderness skills like navigation techniques, wilderness survival, camping, cooking and more.

In addition to backpacking, hiking, and camping in this beautiful wilderness, teens have an opportunity to participate in exciting activities like canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, mountaineering and more. While uncovering the magic of Northern California, the participants can make lifetime friends and learn valuable leadership and outdoor skills.
